Alice Thompson
Alice previously studied Textile Design at Chelsea College of Art. Her practice makes reference to the transitional stages in our lifetime and the cast aside nature of clothing. Working with the medium of knit, she tests the durability of yarn, often knitting on a loose tension so the physical line of the knitted row is seen. The knitting sits in conjunction with hard found frames. Specific colour combinations can evoke snippets of memory. She is a Tutor in Machine Knitting at Working Men's College and Technical Instructor in Textiles Yarn Resource at the Royal College of Art.
